2. Local gameplay
501 Dart Scorer requires no user account. Player profiles, scores and settings are stored locally on your device. Gameplay and camera scoring work offline; the app does not transmit this game data to us or a server operated by us.
The app communicates with Apple for product information and optional In-App Purchases. External information links open the respective website. These features require internet access.
3. What data is processed?
The following data is processed and stored exclusively on your device:
- Player profiles: player names you choose and optional profile photos.
- Game and history data: scores, match history and statistics.
- App settings: e.g. language (German/English/Dutch), appearance (light/dark) and sound settings.
The app does not transmit this game, profile or settings data to us or third parties. Any device backup you configure is subject to the settings and terms of the respective backup service.
4. Camera, photo library and optional microphone
Camera access is requested for profile photos and automatic dart scoring when you use those features. Images are analysed on your device. Reference and throw images are held temporarily in memory for detection and correction. The public app does not export training or diagnostic photos or upload camera images.
Profile photos remain part of your locally stored player profiles. Photo library access is used to select a profile photo.
If you enable optional impact detection in expert settings, the app requests microphone access. Audio is analysed locally in real time and is neither saved as a recording nor transmitted.
Permissions are requested when you use the respective feature. You can revoke them at any time in iOS Settings.
5. No tracking, analytics or advertising technologies
The app contains no tracking, no analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Firebase) and no advertising. No usage profiles are created and no data is processed for advertising purposes.
6. Apple, optional support and diagnostics
All app features are available without payment. You can support development in Settings through optional one-time In-App Purchases. These purchases do not unlock features or start a subscription. Repeat contributions are voluntary.
Apple StoreKit supplies product information and localized prices. Apple handles purchase confirmation, payments and any refunds. The app verifies transactions locally, finishes them and displays a thank-you message. It does not receive payment card or bank account numbers and does not send purchases to a developer-operated server.
Apple processes App Store and payment data as an independent controller and provides sales and financial reports to developers. See App Store and Privacy and the Apple Privacy Policy.
If you enable sharing diagnostics and crash data with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with technical crash and performance reports. You can disable this sharing in those settings.
7. Legal bases
Insofar as any processing takes place within the scope of the GDPR, it is based on:
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR – to provide the app functions you requested (local storage of your input).
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – your consent to camera, photo and microphone access, which you give by granting the respective iOS permission and can withdraw at any time.
8. Storage period and deletion
Data remains on your device until you delete it. You can:
- delete individual player profiles, matches or photos within the app, and/or
- remove all locally stored data completely by uninstalling the app.
Temporary camera and audio data is processed only for the active feature. Deleting the app does not remove purchase records held by Apple; their retention and deletion are governed by Apple’s privacy information.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Because your game and profile data resides locally on your device, you have full and direct control and can exercise these rights directly in the app or by deleting the data from the device. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
10. Children
The app is not specifically directed at children. It does not request your age or transmit player profiles or camera images to us. Purchases are subject to Apple’s purchase confirmation and Apple Account settings, including parental approval where required.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app or legal requirements change. The current version is always available at this address.
