2. Principle: the app works entirely on your device
501 Darts is a purely offline app. There is no user account, no sign-in, no server and no cloud. All data you enter is stored locally on your device only and is never collected, transmitted or accessed by us.
3. What data is processed?
The following data is processed and stored exclusively on your device:
- Player profiles: player names you choose and optional profile photos.
- Game and history data: scores, match history and statistics.
- App settings: e.g. language (German/English/Dutch), appearance (light/dark) and sound settings.
This data does not leave your device. No transfer to us or to third parties takes place.
4. Camera and photo library
-
Camera (
NSCameraUsageDescription): Access is requested only when you want to take a photo for a player profile. The image is processed locally and stored only in your profile on the device. -
Photo library (
NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription): Access is requested only when you want to choose an existing photo as a profile picture.
Permissions are requested only at the moment of the respective action and can be revoked at any time in the iOS settings. Photos taken or selected are not uploaded.
5. No tracking, analytics or advertising technologies
The app contains no tracking, no analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Firebase) and no advertising. No usage profiles are created and no data is processed for advertising purposes.
6. Processing by Apple (App Store / diagnostics)
Downloading and using the app via the Apple App Store is handled by Apple. In doing so, Apple may process data as an independent controller (e.g. download and purchase information). The Apple Privacy Policy applies.
If you have enabled sharing of diagnostics and crash data with app developers in your iOS settings, Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymized crash and performance data. This does not contain any personal content from your scores or profiles. You can disable this at any time in the iOS settings.
7. Legal bases
Insofar as any processing takes place within the scope of the GDPR, it is based on:
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR – to provide the app functions you requested (local storage of your input).
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – your consent to camera/photo access, which you give by granting the respective iOS permission and can withdraw at any time.
8. Storage period and deletion
Data remains on your device until you delete it. You can:
- delete individual player profiles, matches or photos within the app, and/or
- remove all locally stored data completely by uninstalling the app.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Because all data resides exclusively on your device, you have full and direct control and can exercise these rights directly in the app or by deleting the data from the device. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
10. Children
The app is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children. As no data transmission takes place, no data of any user, regardless of age, is transmitted to us.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app or legal requirements change. The current version is always available at this address.
